DNR - Public Meeting about disposal of dredged material
NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to s. 289.54, Wis. Stats., a public meeting to discuss the disposal of dredged material from the Bender Park dredging project will be held by the Department of Natural Resources at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 3 at the WDNR Milwaukee Service Center, 1027 West St. Paul Ave, Milwaukee 53233 in the Michigan Room. There will be a virtual access option to the meeting via Microsoft Teams.
Milwaukee County (county) has requested approval from the DNR to dispose of sediments dredged from the Bender Park Marina. The majority of the material would be placed beneath the gravel parking lot at Bender Park. Upon completion of dredging, the parking lot will be restored to its original use.
The purpose of the meeting is to solicit public comment and answer questions on the proposed disposal. There will be a brief introduction and explanation of the project by DNR and County representatives. All public comments will be considered by DNR in its decision on the proposal.
