The Brown Deer Park project (Phase 3B) is now complete. Landscaping will be completed during fall of 2022.
Progress as of July 2022 at the Brown Deer Park project (Phase 3B) includes:
- Asphalt work is completed on section east of Green Bay Road
- Work on the section west of Green Bay is estimated to be completed by mid-August
- Landscaping and plantings will be initiated in early fall
Scheduled for April 2022, the next phase of the Brown Deer Park project (Phase 3B) begins on the eastern half of the perimeter roadway, with substantial completion by early July. This will be from the N. Green Bay Road entrance to the Clubhouse East Parking Lot, including the Green Bay Road entrance reconstruction, East Lot and Range Line reconstruction.
Western half from Green Bay Road to Clubhouse is scheduled for substantial completion by mid-August.
An appropriation of $785,000 was budgeted for the Brown Deer Park Parkway Drive Reconstruction and Reconfiguration that started in 2017. The existing road segments within Brown Deer Park had a condition rating of 32. Reconstruction is recommended for roadways with a rating of 40 or lower.
The balance of the Brown Deer Park parkway drive also have condition ratings that support replacement. A project for the reconstruction of the balance of the Brown Deer Park Roadway was included in the five year plan.
Phase 1 of the project included the demolition of approximately 1,300 feet of the existing roadway, clearing four areas of trees, and the construction of a new rerouted park roadway (approximately 1,730 linear feet) between the practice putting green and the Greater Milwaukee Open (GMO) tee. A new section of cart path (approximately 1,100 linear feet) was also included in the project. Pedestrians, walkers, bikers, strollers and runners still follow a circular loop around a new driving range, up to the clubhouse and back to the original park drive, after the new roadway was constructed.
Phase 2 of the project was completed in 2020, and included the Golf Course Parking Lot, Service Yard and Boathouse Drive. In 2021, Phase 3A focused on the west perimeter roadway.
