The scope of work includes planning and design for the replacement of the Currie Park Golf parking lot, entry road, and a new continuous golf cart path throughout the 18-hole golf course. Stormwater best management practices, green infrastructure, natural areas restoration, and management shall be incorporated where applicable. With respect to sustainability and energy efficiency, lighting will be replaced with LED fixtures. Asphaltic concrete mixes used for surface course and binder course may contain salvaged or reclaimed asphaltic material. A crushed gravel base course may include crushed stone, crushed gravel, crushed concrete, reclaimed asphaltic pavement, reprocessed material, or blended material.
Milwaukee County Parks is currently in the design/development phase with hopes to bid the project in late 2024 with construction starting in 2026. The current plan would be to shut down Currie Golf Course for construction when WisDOT is reconstructing Mayfair Road in 2024/2025. The County has funded the design/development phase, but not the construction phase. The County will be applying for construction funds in 2025
