Project Description

The W. Glendale Avenue parking lot in Lincoln Park is in very poor condition and in need of reconstruction. Funds were approved in the Milwaukee County capital budget to fund the design stage of the parking lot replacement project. The county design team will evaluate the redesign of the parking lot that will include updated LED parking lot lighting, upgraded stormwater infrastructure including green infrastructure elements to improve stormwater runoff quality, landscaping and improved pedestrian and ADA access. A reduction in the size of the parking lot will be considered along with addressing pavement deficiencies in the Parks maintenance service yard.

A primary component of the project will also address repaving, and widening, several asphalt paths and walkways throughout the park that are also in poor condition. ADA access to the Blatz pavilion building near the Schultz Aquatic facility will also be evaluated.

Design work will be ongoing in 2026. Once design is complete and construction documents are produced, the project will be submitted for construction funding in a future capital budget.
