Pickleball Courts
On Monday, July 1st, Milwaukee County Parks opened its first outdoor pickleball courts at Froemming Park on South 51st and Puetz Road in Franklin. 6 courts were built along with new perimeter and divisional fencing. This capital project also included Oak Leaf Trail reconstruction, tree planting in the immediate area, and new bike racks.
You may rent any or all of the six pickleball courts at Froemming Park on a first-come, first-served basis, as an individual or group. Renting a court ensures availability; however, you may use the courts at no cost if no other groups are scheduled.
According to Parks Executive Director, Guy Smith, "We have plans to try to geographically and equitably — across the county — provide this to everyone. Parks plans to request funding in 2025 to redevelop the tennis courts at Brown Deer Park into pickleball courts. The department is also working with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) on a flood management project in Jackson Park that will incorporate new courts.”
