Rainbow Park Playground

The Rainbow Park playground was installed in 1995 and is one of the oldest playgrounds in the Milwaukee County Parks system. Funding was approved in the 2021 budget for the replacement of the playground. The new playground system will include ADA-accessible features, and surfacing will be upgraded to a mixture of "poured-in-place" surfacing (soft, rubberized surface) and engineered wood fiber. This is a safer and cleaner play option compared to sand (existing surfacing).

Rainbow Park has officially finished installation. The new installation included a new playground, removal of sand and the addition of wood chip medium, and corresponding site improvements, such as new benches.

Playground Rendering

The playground consultant has prepared a design for the Rainbow Park playground based on the results of the initial playground survey distributed to neighbors and Friends of Rainbow Park. The preferred playground elements were incorporated into the design. See the renderings below.
