Underwood Creek Parkway Detour

Here is some exciting news about Underwood Creek Parkway. Back in 2017, it was rated at 38/100, and although there was a capital request for reconstruction in 2013, it wasn't funded at that time. Milwaukee County Parks was awarded $278,300 for anticipated impacts from WisDOT.

Now that the WisDOT work on US-41 is complete, Parks is eager to use these funds for the much-anticipated reconstruction of Underwood Creek Parkway. The road reconstruction plan includes evaluating the best stormwater management practices, making accommodations for the Oak Leaf Trail within the road, and addressing facilities like Wil-O-Way, Firefly Ridge, and Hansen Golf Course that are served by Underwood Creek Parkway. Milwaukee County Parks is reviewing the potential conversion of a portion of this parkway to Oak Leaf Trail. Public vehicular access to Wil-O-Way, Firefly Ridge, and Hansen Golf Course as well as authorized vehicular access to Wisconsin Lutheran College Facilities will remain after construction is complete.

We're thrilled about the potential improvements, and your support means the world to us as we work towards making Underwood Creek Parkway even better! 🌳🚲🛣️
