New Funding
In May 2024, the City of Milwaukee adopted the Amendment 2 project plan for Tax Increment Finance District (TID) #85 (6th and National), which includes $8.7 million. $750,000 of that has been allocated to improvements in Walker Square Park. See the document on the right-hand side of this page for more information.
TID funds will be allocated to Milwaukee County Parks for improvements to Walker Square Park as outlined in Amendment 2.
To guide these and future improvements, Milwaukee County Parks is developing a site-based plan for Walker Square Park. This plan will shape all future planning and management decisions for the park. As part of this process, the insights from this survey, along with input from the City of Milwaukee’s Walker Square Strategic Action Plan and feedback collected from the Walker Square Neighborhood Association and Friends of Walker Square, will inform the development of the site-based plan.
