Project Description
The Scout Lake Parking Lot has a condition score of 36/100, indicating an extremely deteriorated condition. Parks Operations staff have repeatedly repaired the lot with patching and stone, but due to the drainage conditions and slope of the site, the remedies wash out onto the adjoining pedestrian path creating a hazardous condition.
The pathway around the lake is also degraded and damaged, with a condition of 44/100. Scout Lake offers an accessible fishing pier reached by both the parking lot and the pathway. As a part of any reconstruction project, the scope would include drainage solutions, stormwater best management practices, lighting evaluation and replacement with Dark Skies, and energy-efficient solutions.
Property line and real estate ownership corrections will be completed as required throughout this project.

80 - 100 = Excellent 70 - 80 = Very good 50 - 70 = Good 30 - 50 = Poor 10 - 20 = Very Poor 0 - 10 = Failed
Timeline The 2024 Capital Budget included an appropriation of $92,630 for the design work for Scout Lake’s Parking Lot and walkway. The 2024 Budget included a planned appropriation in 2026 for construction.
