Vogel Park Playground

Ribbon Cutting for the New Playground on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, at 10 am!

The Vogel Park playground was installed in 1999 and funding was approved in the 2021 budget for its complete replacement. The new playground system will include ADA-accessible features and the playground surfacing will be upgraded to a mixture of “poured-in-place” surfacing (soft, rubberized surface) and engineered wood fiber (wood chips). This is a safer and cleaner option compared to sand (existing surface). The approved budget includes design, removal of existing playground equipment and sand as well as the concrete curb, installation of new playground and corresponding site improvements, such as new pathways, benches and bike racks. Additionally, parks staff is currently reviewing relocating this play area within Vogel Park.

The new playground will include a play structure for 2-5 year old kids, a play structure for 5-12 year old kids, swings, and possibly a few stand alone pieces. Design images of the new playground will be posted to this site when available. This playground is also under consideration for relocation within Vogel Park. Timeline
Design of this playground should be complete in summer of 2023 with construction sometime afterwards.
